지나다
1【통과하다】pass by;go past;pass through
   문 앞을 지나다 pass by the door
   숲 속을 지나다 go through the woods
   기차는 이미 대구를 지났다 The train has already passed Daegu.
   지나는 길에 한번 들르시오 Please drop in sometime when you are passing by. or When you happen to pass by, drop in and see us.
2【경과하다】pass;elapse;go on;go by
   지난 일 the past;bygones;a past event;a thing of the past
   시간이 지남에 따라 as time goes on
   오랜 시일이 지났다 A long time has passed.
   지난 일은 어쩔 수 없느니라 Let bygones be bygones. or What has been done, has been done.
   봄이 지나고 여름이 왔다 Spring passed into summer.
3【초과하다】expire;terminate;be out;exceed;go beyond;go far
   계약 기한이 지났다 The contract has expired.
   지원 마감이 어제로 지났다 The time for application expired yesterday.
   졸다가 두 정거장이나 지나 버렸다 I was carried two stops beyond my destination while napping.
   책을 반납할 기한이 지났다 The book is overdue.지나지 않다 be nothing but...;be no more than...;【다만 …일 뿐】only;merely
   그것은 핑계에 지나지 않는다 It is a mere excuse. or That is an excuse.
   그는 일개 학생에 지나지 않는다 He is nothing but a student.
   그저 해야 할 일을 한 데 지나지 않는다 I only have done what I ought to (do).
   그는 도둑에 지나지 않는다 He is nothing but a thief.
